Boston Globe Highlights METCO's Impact
7 de octubre de 2026
At 16, Paula Davis traveled from Roxbury to Wellesley High School as a member of METCO’s first class in 1966. Despite the challenges of being the only Black student in many of her classes, she built friendships, excelled academically, and graduated in 1968. Sixty years later, Paula’s story remains a powerful reminder that courage creates opportunities for those who follow. In a front-page story Eleven-year-old Daniella Daley and 15-year-old Brodi Morales begin each school day with long commutes from Dorchester to Reading and Wellesley. In a September 23 feature in The Boston Globe by John Hilliard, their stories highlight why a student’s ZIP code should never limit their opportunities. Read the story here.
