Melrose Alum (And WNBA Player) Shey Peddy Honored In Massachusetts

August 18 was officially proclaimed Shey Peddy Day in recognition of Shey Peddy, a proud Melrose METCO alumna from the Class of 2007 and WNBA Connecticut Sun player. METCO, Inc. CEO Dr. Kandice Sumner was honored to join the Boston community and Massachusetts leaders including METCO Champion Chris Worrell in celebratoin.

Shey’s journey is a powerful reminder of what can happen when talent meets discipline, perseverance, and a community willing to believe in a young person’s possibilities. Our alumni are METCO’s legacy in motion, and moments like this allow our babies to see that the dreams beginning in their classrooms today can carry them farther than they may yet imagine.
