Seeking Group Facilitators to Work with High School Students in an After-School Intervention

as part of a Research Study

Enthusiastic, youth-oriented facilitators sought for a federally-funded research study. Facilitators will lead a structured group intervention for high school youth aged 14-18 in Boston. The purpose of the study is to compare the impact of two afterschool programs on youth mental health and well-being. There will be a lead facilitator and a co-facilitator for each program. Lead facilitators will be in charge of carrying out the sessions for youth while co-facilitators will assist youth with their participation. The lead facilitator position requires previous experience working with youth or teaching experience; while the co-facilitator position does not have that requirement, though it is preferred. One after-school program will focus on leadership and mindfulness, the other program will focus on college and career preparation.

Facilitators will be trained using manualized curricula and will lead sessions in person during after- school hours. Facilitators will participate in 45 hours of training. Facilitators will be responsible for preparing and facilitating the sessions, tracking attendance and youth engagement with the program, and supporting data collection. Facilitators will also participate in weekly supervision meetings and brief qualitative interviews to provide insight on the program. The qualitative interviews will take place after the program is over and will last about an hour.

Facilitators will work up to 15 hours a week from September 2026 to March 2026. Lead facilitators

will be paid $33/hour and co-facilitators will be paid $27/hour. Facilitators will complete trainings in September 2026. The intervention will be delivered between October to December 2026, and again between January to March 2027, meeting twice a week, for a two-hour session (four hours per week total). Facilitators are also expected to attend a one-hour weekly supervision meeting throughout the program to discuss program progress and receive support from the research team. Facilitators will spend at least 2 additional hours per week preparing for the groups (i.e., preparing materials, discussing group plans with the other facilitator, etc.). Groups will be held Tuesdays and

Thursdays from 5:00-7:00pm at METCO Inc. in Nubian Square and facilitators must be on-

site from 4:30-7:30pm on these days.
